What we look at

The parts of a domain or hosting business where sector knowledge changes the findings.

  1. Domain economics

Domains under management, TLD mix, renewal rates, transfers, registry and ICANN fees, reseller structures, customer concentration.

  2. Technology

EPP, DNS, provisioning, billing, control panel, registry integrations, hosting platforms, technical debt, security, third-party dependencies.

  3. Operations

Support load, manual processes, abuse and fraud handling, vendor and key-person dependencies, scalability.

  4. Product and commercial

Pricing, including renewals, packaging, attach rates, cross-sell, churn, customer cohorts, legacy products.

Along the lifecycle

From the first look at a target to exit readiness. Each phase can be engaged on its own.

  1. Assess: red flag review and specialist due diligence

Data room review and management interviews across commercial, product, operations, and technology. Output: red flags, priority diligence questions, integration complexity, and value-creation hypotheses.

Red flag review in three to five working days; full specialist due diligence in two to four weeks.

  2. Acquire: synergy case and integration risk

Which platform stays, which brands stay, which accreditations are consolidated, what migrates, and what the synergy case really supports. Integration risk assessment before signing.

  3. Integrate: PMI blueprint and 100-day plan

Target picture and workstreams, prioritised execution plan, and governance. Execution advisory on individual workstreams: platform, product, pricing, organisation, and operations.

  4. Improve: value creation and exit readiness

Pricing and renewals, product rationalisation, automation, support and infrastructure cost, and operating model. On the sell side: KPI quality, technical legacy, documentation, and buyer questions before the data room opens.

Why us

A boutique of operators, not a bench of consultants. Every engagement is delivered by founders who have built, scaled, integrated, and sold registrar and hosting businesses.

  1. Senior-only delivery

One engagement lead and one to three specialists. No junior pyramid.

  2. Sector depth

Registrar accreditation, EPP, DNS, renewals, and billing have been our day-to-day work for two decades. We also publish peer-reviewed research on domains and the DNS.

  3. Alongside your advisers

We complement financial due diligence, legal counsel, and the internal M&A team. We do not provide financial, legal, or tax opinions.

  4. Fixed fee, defined scope

Every engagement is scoped up front and priced as a fixed fee. No day rates as the default.

Track record

In previous roles, our founders have sat on both sides of the table: four times as the target, once as the buyer. We know what buyers miss, because we were the ones explaining it.

When to call

When sector depth matters to the investment case.

  1. A target has meaningful registrar, domain, or hosting operations.

  2. The deal thesis depends on migration, platform consolidation, or operational synergies.

  3. The buyer wants an independent operating view alongside its existing advisers.

  4. A portfolio company needs focused work on product, pricing, automation, or margin.

  5. Management wants to surface issues before a sale process starts.
